Peptest is a simple saliva test for the detection of pepsin — the biomarker for gastro-oesophageal reflux and silent aspiration. Fast, non-invasive, no endoscopy required.
Gastro-oesophageal reflux (GERD) and silent aspiration are common conditions but can be difficult to diagnose. Conventional methods such as 24h pH-metry or endoscopy are elaborate and burdensome for the patient.
Peptest is based on the detection of pepsin in saliva — a reliable biomarker for reflux. Results are available in a few minutes, with no invasive procedures.
Detection in under 5 minutes — ideal for the consultation and outpatient setting.
Just a saliva sample — no tube, no endoscopy, no sedation.
Peptest is also suitable for follow-up monitoring during therapy — until when is pepsin still being detected?
The patient spits a saliva sample into the test container. The lateral-flow test detects pepsin — the result can be read off in a few minutes.
Adults and children with suspected GERD, LPR (laryngopharyngeal reflux), chronic cough, hoarseness, globus sensation or silent aspiration.
Peptest is clinically validated and shows high sensitivity for reflux events. A positive result should be interpreted clinically — it is a screening test, not a definitive diagnostic proof.
Gastroenterology, ENT, pulmonology, dysphagia clinics, paediatrics — anywhere reflux or aspiration is diagnostically relevant.
